Description of the content

"To be completed with:

External placements, divided into three periods, will enable students to gain an insight into the reality of working as an early years teacher, by integrating into classrooms for the 0–3 and/or 3–6 age groups in state, private and state-subsidised schools with which the University has signed educational cooperation agreements.

During their placement at the centre, students will put into practice the knowledge acquired throughout the Bachelor’s degree, and must demonstrate an adequate command of the learning outcomes set out in the ECI Order applicable to this subject.

School Placement I will consist of observation, whilst during the other two periods the student will take on a more active role, playing a direct part in working with the children, always under the supervision of a mentor who is an early years teacher. School Placement III will, as far as possible, be linked to the specialisation being studied.

To facilitate the acquisition of the practical learning outcomes for each specialisation, within the context of the External Placements, students will be asked to develop a teaching unit linked to the specialisation they are studying, so that they can apply their knowledge and translate it into practical classroom activities.
