The Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (Online) prepares you to plan, deliver and assess Spanish courses aimed at students of different ages, levels and cultural backgrounds. You will learn to teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and communicative skills using a practical approach tailored to the realities of the classroom.
Furthermore, you will develop skills in language teaching methodology, language assessment, the creation of teaching materials and intercultural communication, preparing you to teach Spanish in international and multicultural educational settings.
The Master’s programme’s methodology is geared towards the practical application of knowledge in real-life contexts of teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). You will learn to design teaching units, create materials, plan courses and develop assessment systems tailored to different learner profiles and needs.
You will also work on error analysis, adapting content to multicultural settings, and teaching Spanish for different purposes and at different levels. All of this is complemented by work placements at partner centres and institutions linked to the field of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

Objectives 1. Design teaching sequences with grammatical content that are geared towards communicative objectives and include consistent assessment criteria. 2. Adapt grammatical content to the student’s language level and develop strategies for teaching it. 3. Recognise the most common grammatical errors according to the CEFR. 4. Identify and reflect on the most common errors made by learners, taking into account their mother tongue. 5. Analyse grammatical content from a perspective geared towards the teaching of Spanish. Objectives 1. To familiarise oneself with and evaluate the main digital resources used in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). 2. Select appropriate digital resources based on the learners’ level. 3. Adapt activities using a variety of digital resources in order to improve learners’ communicative proficiency. 4. Manage virtual learning environments (LMS, collaborative tools, virtual classrooms, etc.). Competences BASIC COMPETENCIES CB6. Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity for originality in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context. CB7 Students should be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired and their problem-solving skills in new or unfamiliar environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their field of study. Objectives Design and justify any type of teaching programme in accordance with the principles of the PCIC and the CEFR 2. Reflect critically on the coherence between the curriculum, instructional sequencing and assessment in the ELE classroom. 3. Link the various teaching and curricular approaches to the most up-to-date methodological approaches. Competencies RC1. Identify and analyse different professional contexts in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (health, business, law, migration, etc.) in order to adapt teaching practice to international and/or multicultural environments. Stages in planning a Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) course - Course planning - Planning and designing teaching activities - Assessment To develop the necessary skills to facilitate the design of Spanish courses through sound teaching programme planning based on critical analysis, reflection and the integration of various resources and tools, with the aim of meeting the needs of students learning Spanish. Sound post-production: editing, mixing and mastering • Multimedia resources as a teaching strategy: integration into teaching practice. Adapting Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) content for digital SCORM formats • The process of developing multimedia resources for teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE): tutorial videos, podcasts, advertising, etc. To introduce students to the theoretical and practical principles of digital design applied to the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). To this end, students will analyse digital materials, research current formats such as educational videos and multimedia resources, and develop their own materials. The entry requirements will be determined in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 822/2021 of 28 September, which regulates access to and admission onto official Master’s degree programmes, as set out in Article 18.
The entry requirements for the Master’s programme, which are not subject to a points-based system, consist of holding an official undergraduate degree or equivalent and demonstrating a C1 level of Spanish in accordance with the CEFR in the case of students whose mother tongue is not Spanish.
