The aim of this qualification is to provide specialised training for primary care health professionals in the field of clinical nutrition. Participants will acquire the skills to assess nutritional status, identify risk factors, design and implement nutritional interventions, develop educational strategies, evaluate nutritional policies, solve practical problems and keep up to date with advances in nutrition. These skills will enable them to tackle malnutrition effectively in their professional practice and contribute to their patients’ wellbeing.
The Expert Certificate in Addressing Malnutrition in Primary Care is a qualification designed in collaboration with Abbott Laboratories and healthcare professionals from leading healthcare centres.

The course programme is structured into 7 modules; the Expert qualification is awarded upon successful completion of 3 modules (15 ECTS), with the modules ‘Malnutrition in Primary Care’ and ‘Clinical Malnutrition in Elderly Patients with Medical Conditions’ being compulsory.
You have the option to take individual modules and receive a certificate confirming that you have successfully completed them.

Legal Entry Requirements
Admission to the Expert Certificate in Tackling Malnutrition in Primary Care programme is subject to the following requirements:
(*) within the Spanish Social Security healthcare system or in centres, hospitals or healthcare institutions in Spain.
Students must provide, at the time of enrolment or when requested by Alfonso X el Sabio University, the required documentation as specified for any of the procedures, within the deadlines indicated. Should this documentation not be submitted, or should it be found to be invalid or insufficient, enrolment will not be finalised.

Enrolment is not permitted after the months indicated, taking into account the estimated time required to complete the programmes.
How long do I have to complete each programme?
Once you have registered and enrolled, you will receive an email with your login details for the platform. From that point onwards, you will have until 30 September 2027 to complete this course.
If you do not complete the module within the allocated time, you will need to re-enrol on it, subject to approval by UAX&Abbott. Please note that we cannot guarantee the availability of places for re-enrolment, due to the limited number of places.
