The aim of the Specialist Qualification is to provide you with specialised training as a healthcare professional in the field of Clinical Nutrition. Specifically, the course will cover the concepts of malnutrition and disease-related malnutrition in various clinical contexts. Throughout the course, you will be able to update your knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the early detection of disease-related malnutrition, as well as how to establish nutritional treatments tailored to the needs of each patient.
The Specialist Certificate in the Management of Disease-Related Malnutrition for Paediatricians is a qualification designed in collaboration with Abbott Laboratories and healthcare professionals from leading healthcare centres. High-quality training at your own pace, thanks to an innovative methodology.
The course programme is structured into 6 modules of 5 ECTS credits each.
The Specialist programme is designed so that you can take each module independently.
To obtain the Specialist qualification, you must enrol in all modules until you have completed 30 ECTS credits. You may enrol only in the modules that interest you, and can obtain the Expert qualification if you achieve 15 credits; however, it is compulsory to pass Module 1 (Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics).

She has been working as a paediatric gastroenterologist at the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena in Seville for more than 10 years, specialising in the field of child nutrition. She currently leads this healthcare activity at the hospital, complementing it with her teaching activity. She is a full member of the SEGHNP and of the Spanish Working Group on Child Nutrition (GETNI), having participated to date in the execution of numerous studies and research projects related to nutrition. She is also the author of more than 20 publications in national and international books and scientific journals.

Doctor in Medicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and specialist in Paediatrics. She currently works as an assistant in the Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Section of the Hospital Infantil Universitario Niño Jesús.
Very dynamic, with very well-structured content, to allow for not excessively long periods of time, a scarce commodity in the life of health professionals. In addition to the text content, there is also multimedia material in the form of webinars, master classes on important topics, practical exercises with clinical and real micro-cases, etc., which add to the richness of the training.
This is one of the factors, together with the practical nature and the teaching based on the resolution of real problems, thanks to which the information is assimilated in a simple and effective way. What is our methodology?
Qualification compatible with your professional activity. You will have the possibility of enrolling in each of the modules independently.
The possibility of taking more than one module, being necessary to have successfully completed the module previously taken. It is not allowed to take more than one module at the same time.
Legal Entry Requirements
Admission to the Specialist Diploma in the Management of Disease-Related Malnutrition in Paediatrics is subject to the following requirements:
The enrolment period runs from September 2026 to March 2027.
Enrolment is not permitted after the months indicated, taking into account the estimated time required to complete the programmes.
How long do I have to complete each programme?
Once you have registered and enrolled, you will receive an email with your login details for the platform and you will have until 30 June 2027 to complete the training. Once this deadline has passed, access to the virtual campus will be cancelled, and you will no longer be able to access the programmes’ resources and content.
In this regard, it is important that you plan accordingly to complete the training in a timely and proper manner; no extensions beyond the specified time limit will be permitted.
