Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX) and the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, based in the famous Casa Amarilla, are launching a new scholarship programme aimed at Costa Rican students, with the aim of facilitating access to official postgraduate education and promoting academic and professional development in a market with a growing demand for master’s degree programmes.
The partnership involves both institutions launching a new call for applications for 25 academic scholarships, focused on specialised training in strategic and high-demand sectors, particularly in key areas such as Business & Tech and Educational Sciences – fields for which there is currently a high demand for professionals in the country.
On this occasion, the programme offers 13 places in the Business & Tech field and 12 places in the field of education. Notable master’s programmes on offer include, for example, the Master’s in Data Science and Big Data, Cybersecurity, Business Administration and Management (ADE) and the MBA, as well as Artificial Intelligence. In the field of education, the programmes include the Master’s Degree in Educational Neuropsychology, Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, Educational Technology and Digital Skills, Mathematics Education and Educational Innovation.
The scholarships consist of a 50 per cent discount on the tuition fees for the master’s programmes, as well as further discounts on the other degree programmes included in the academic offering. These grants will be available for the 2026/2027 academic year and are aimed at Ibero-American degree holders, graduates and engineers, with a particular focus on Costa Rican citizens. All programmes are officially recognised, guaranteeing their academic standing and international standing.
Applicants must meet the academic requirements relating to the subject areas of each programme, which can be consulted via the official channels of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship. The deadline for submitting applications is 20 September 2026. Furthermore, those interested may direct any queries to the designated email address: aberrocal@externos.uax.es.
“The launch of a new edition of this scholarship programme continues to reinforce our commitment to international education and access to quality education. Costa Rica is a country with enormous potential, and we want to support its students in their professional development through official programmes designed to enhance employability, ” said Beatriz Faro, Head of Business and International Development at the UAX Group.
UAX strengthens its international presence
With this new call for scholarship applications, UAX is strengthening its international presence and its commitment to high-quality higher education, aligned with the real demands of a global market. It also reinforces UAX’s position as a leading university both within and beyond our borders.
