The UAX Education Group and MAPFRE Spain have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of joining forces to promote knowledge, training and teaching, talent development and social commitment. The agreement represents a step forward in both institutions’ commitment to fostering a university-business ecosystem that is more closely connected and committed to students’ professional futures.

The agreement will enable the joint development of high-value initiatives that combine the UAX Education Group’s expertise with MAPFRE’s track record and corporate commitment. Among the planned areas of collaboration are activities focused on implementing a Talent Attraction Plan, which will boost MAPFRE’s participation in job fairs, university events and training activities, as well as in the UAXmakers educational model through joint projects with students from the educational group. At the same time, the Global Internship Programme will be promoted to facilitate work placements within the various companies of the insurance group, enabling students to apply their knowledge in a real-world, highly professional environment.

“This agreement is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to building bridges between the academic world and the professional sphere, with the aim of turning our students into the professionals that companies need—prepared to lead with innovation, commitment and a technological vision. Agreements such as this allow us to enrich our students’ educational experience, connecting them with the reality of the business world and offering them real opportunities for growth, development and entry into the workforce at a leading company such as MAPFRE, ” said Pilar Torres, Director of the Business & Tech and Corporate Affairs Department at the UAX Educational Group.

For her part, Rocío Aragonés, Director of People and Organisation at MAPFRE Iberia, emphasised that this agreement forms part of the MAPFRE Group’s Universities Plan, which is being implemented through collaboration with universities, business schools and educational institutions. “This agreement with the UAX Education Group brings the insurance sector closer to the university, highlighting the different professional profiles working in the insurance industry and its importance for society’s economic development. Training has always been one of MAPFRE’s hallmarks, and this is even more true at times like these, in a constantly changing environment where it is necessary to adapt skills and academic knowledge to the real needs of businesses.”

Continuing professional development programmes for practical and specialised learning

The agreement facilitates the UAX Group’s involvement in the design and delivery of in-company training programmes run by its educational institutions – UAX, The Valley Business & Tech School, Xtart FP, amongst others—specifically for MAPFRE employees, enabling its teams to strengthen and update key skills from both an academic and practical perspective.

In terms of continuing professional development, the agreement also allows MAPFRE employees preferential access to training programmes offered by the UAX Educational Group, including the option of specialisations tailored to their needs, ranging from languages to soft skills. Similarly, the UAX educational community will be granted access to the Fundación MAPFRE Documentation Centre, which specialises in insurance and finance.

Expanded collaboration on innovation, applied training and employability

Furthermore, the agreement includes the dissemination of business case studies and business simulators, as well as advice on the potential development of degree programmes and specialisations. In addition, collaboration will be promoted on innovation projects, scientific publications and headhunting activities to recruit specialist talent.

The UAX Educational Group and MAPFRE share a vision committed to excellence, innovation and the development of young talent as a driving force for transformation. This agreement reinforces that shared vision and consolidates a partnership aimed at advancing the social and productive fabric of society.
