Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX) and Ecuador’s Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture (MINEDEC) have announced a new partnership agreement that includes a scholarship programme aimed at Ecuadorian students, with the aim of facilitating access to official higher education and promoting academic and professional development in sectors that are key to today’s labour market.
Specifically, the partnership provides for 50 academic scholarships, focused on specialised training in high-demand areas such as Business, Technology and Education Sciences. These grants are intended for Ecuadorian professionals holding a third-level degree (bachelors, graduates and engineers) who are interested in developing their careers in a market with a growing demand for qualified professionals in the country.
The programme offers a wide range of 18 official online master’s degrees, including: the University Master’s in Big Data Analysis for Business, the University Master’s in Business Administration and Management (MBA), the University Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and the University Master’s in Cybersecurity, amongst others. Furthermore, in the education sector, there are programmes such as the University Master’s in Educational Technology and Digital Teaching Skills, the University Master’s in Educational Neuropsychology, the Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language, and the Master’s Degree in Emotional Education and Pedagogical Support.
The scholarships consist of a 50 per cent discount on the fee for the master’s programmes included in the call for applications for the 2026/2027 academic year. All programmes are officially recognised, guaranteeing their academic standing and international standing.
Those interested must meet the academic requirements relating to the subject areas of each programme; further details can be found via the official channels of UAX and MINEDEC. The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2026.
“With this new edition of the scholarship programme in partnership with MINEDEC, UAX continues to make high-quality, officially recognised postgraduate education more accessible, facilitating entry to master’s programmes geared towards employability and new market demands. Through this initiative, we are supporting Ecuadorian talent in their academic and professional development, boosting their prospects in an increasingly global and changing environment, whilst at the same time strengthening our international presence,” said Beatriz Faro, Head of Business and International Development at the UAX Group.
The collaboration between UAX and Ecuador’s Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture helps to strengthen academic ties between the two countries, promoting access to high-quality higher education and the development of highly qualified talent.
