Live Nation Spain has partnered with Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX) and UAX Mare Nostrum to launch four new academic programmes designed to prepare the next generation of professionals for the entertainment industry, a rapidly growing sector.
This collaboration combines academic excellence with practical industry knowledge to offer an internationally focused educational programme, aligned with the industry’s changing needs. It also reinforces Live Nation Spain’s commitment to talent development, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of its well-established Master’s in the Live Music Industry.
The launch comes against a backdrop of continued growth in the live music sector, with an 11.24 per cent year-on-year increase in Spain, reaching 807.2 million euros. Added to this is Live Nation’s recent announcement of the creation of a new venue in collaboration with Oak View Group (OVG) and Atlético de Madrid. With the forthcoming opening of another major venue in Madrid, the growing need for highly qualified professionals to support this expanding ecosystem is becoming increasingly apparent.
To meet this demand, the new range of courses will include, in addition to the existing Master’s in Live Music Management, four new programmes:
- Master’s Degree in Culture, Sport, Media and Entertainment Management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Musical Composition and Creation
- MBA in Music Business
- Programme in AI Applied to Creation for Audiovisual Media
Each of these programmes will combine academic training with practical experience in key areas such as management, production, technology and creative development. It is worth noting that the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at Alfonso X el Sabio University is the only faculty in Spain dedicated to undergraduate and postgraduate studies in music and the performing arts.
As a strategic partner, Live Nation Spain will play a central role in designing the programmes, offering students access to the live music ecosystem.
Students will be able to benefit from masterclasses, meetings with industry professionals and exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences at major productions. Furthermore, the top-performing students will have the opportunity to undertake work placements at Live Nation and within its network of partner companies.
Ana Gómez de Castro, Director of Education, CSR and PR at Live Nation Spain, says: “Contributing to the training of the talent that will shape music in the coming years is a strategic priority for us. We want to provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to become professionals capable of leading its evolution. This agreement with UAX enables us to take a decisive step towards promoting training in the field of live performance and responding to a real market demand, by preparing qualified professionals who can sustain its continued growth.”
For Carla F. Benedicto, Director of the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts and of the Centre for High Musical Achievement at UAX, “this partnership with Live Nation Spain enables us to bring our educational model to the entertainment industry, guaranteeing academic excellence and rigour in the training of its future leaders. At the same time, Live Nation Spain brings us the expertise and involvement of leading professionals in our programmes, ensuring that the talent we train at UAX has the necessary tools to enter an ever-changing world of work under the best possible conditions.”
With this initiative, Live Nation Spain reinforces its position as a key player in talent development and reaffirms its commitment to the future of the global entertainment industry.
