What will you learn on this sports nutrition course?

In this sports nutrition course, you will explore the fundamentals needed to understand how diet influences physical performance, recovery and adaptation to training. The course focuses on strength and high-intensity sports, taking an introductory, practical and evidence-based approach.

You will also develop a conceptual foundation that will enable you to continue your studies in the field of sports nutrition and assess further study options at university level or in specialist programmes.

Students will be able to:

  • Understand the energy requirements specific to strength and endurance sports.
  • Relate the role of macronutrients to performance and adaptation to strength training. 
  • Identify general nutritional strategies applicable to strength and endurance sports from an evidence-based perspective.
