First year
The first year is your gateway to two fascinating worlds. If you’re a curious person, keen to understand how businesses operate and the fundamentals of the legal system, you’ll love this year. With a total of 84 credits, spread over two terms, you’ll lay the foundations here that will enable you to build a unique and highly sought-after professional profile.
All first-year modules summarised in this table.

| Fundamentals of Economics | 6 |
| Business Communication Skills | 6 |
| Business Organisation and Management | 6 |

| Fundamentals of Law | 6 |
| Applied Computing | 6 |
| Macroeconomics | 6 |
| Business Mathematics | 6 |
| History of Law | 6 |

The core modules
- Financial Accounting. This is your first introduction to the numerical language of business. You will learn to record transactions, interpret an organisation’s financial position and apply the basic principles of accounting valuation. This is a subject that will feature in almost everything you study later on in the Business Administration and Management programme.
- Fundamentals of Law. If Accounting is the gateway to the business world, this subject is the gateway to the legal world. Here you will understand how the legal system is structured: what a legal rule is, how laws are ranked in a hierarchy, and what role the law plays in the organisation of society. Without this foundation, the rest of the law modules in the degree programme lack a firm footing.
- Business Mathematics. It’s not just about doing calculations for the sake of it. The algebra, optimisation and calculus you study here are the tools you’ll use later on to analyse investments, model markets and make financial decisions. The more solid this foundation, the easier the second year will be.
How to tackle this year
The first year combines two very different approaches: that of numbers (Accounting, Mathematics) and that of text (Roman Law, Foundations of Law). The most common mistake is to neglect one of the two. Set aside separate study blocks for each discipline and do not mix methodologies: law is studied through reasoning, whilst maths is learnt through practice.
Second Year
With the foundations now in place, the second year plunges you headlong into more specific and strategic subjects. If you consider yourself an analytical thinker with an interest in the mechanisms that govern the state and the markets, you’ll be right at home here. This year, totalling 84 ECTS credits, is designed to help you start connecting the dots between advanced business management and the legal system, honing your skills for the challenges of tomorrow.
All the modules for the second year are summarised in this table:
| Module | Credits |
|---|---|
| Constitutional Law I | 6 |
| Corporate and Cost Accounting | 6 |
| Fundamentals of Marketing | 6 |
| Financial Mathematics | 6 |
| Microeconomics | 6 |
| Corporate Social Responsibility | 6 |
| Legal Sociology | 6 |
| Fundamentals of Technology Law | 6 |
| Constitutional Law II | 6 |
| Spanish and Global Economics | 6 |
| Business Statistics | 6 |
| Management Skills | 6 |
| English for Business | 6 |
| Investment and Finance | 6 |
The core modules
- Financial Mathematics. You will learn to value money over time, one of the most practical skills in the entire degree programme. The financial principles you study here are directly applicable to investment valuation, loan analysis and economic decision-making. It is a demanding subject, but one with very clear, immediate practical applications.
- Constitutional Law I and II. Together, they provide an overview of the Spanish legal system. The first part focuses on fundamental rights and freedoms; the second, on how the State is organised and functions. Understanding this is essential for any professional working in regulated environments, which in today’s business world are almost all.
- Investment and Financing. One of the modules most directly linked to the business world. You will learn to evaluate investment projects and analyse the sources of financing available to a company. If you are interested in the world of corporate finance, this is where it all begins.
How to tackle this year
This is the year with the heaviest workload of the entire degree programme. Financial Mathematics and Business Statistics are taught in the same year and do not forgive any backlog in study. The key is to keep up with them week by week: one hour of practice a day is more effective than a last-minute marathon in the week before the exam.
Third year
As you reach the halfway point of the degree programme, the third year marks a turning point where specialisation intensifies. If you consider yourself an analytical thinker with a flair for business and a strong sense of justice, you’ll find this year fascinating. Over the course of 78 ECTS credits and two semesters, you’ll learn to link a company’s strategic management with the legal framework that governs it, preparing you for a well-rounded career in management.
All third-year modules summarised in this table:
| Module | Credits |
|---|---|
| Civil Law I: Obligations and Contracts | 6 |
| Business Management | 6 |
| Strategic Management | 6 |
| Human Resources Management | 6 |
| Econometrics | 6 |
| Civil Law II: Smart Contracts | 6 |
| Legal Documentation and Information Technology | 6 |
| Criminal Law I | 6 |
| Analysis of Financial Statements | 6 |
| International Trade | 6 |
| Corporate Taxation | 6 |
| Operations and Innovation Management | 6 |
| Financial and Tax Law I | 6 |
| Commercial Law I | 6 |
The core modules
- Strategic Management. Here you begin to think like a manager. You will learn to analyse the competitive environment, define an organisation’s mission and vision, and formulate strategies to ensure its long-term growth. It is one of the subjects most highly rated by students because it connects directly with the reality of any business.
- Commercial Law I. This course acts as the bridge between the two degree programmes. You will study the legal framework governing business owners, the Commercial Register, company law and industrial property. If there is one course where Business Administration and Law merge naturally, it is this one. Understanding how a company operates legally from the inside completely changes your perspective.
- Corporate Taxation. Corporation tax, VAT and tax planning are not just obligations: they are also management tools. This module teaches you to understand the tax system from a business perspective and to make decisions with tax implications in mind – something every manager or adviser needs to master.
How to tackle this year
The third year is the most intensive in terms of the volume of legal material. The key is to study the subjects in parallel: what you learn in Commercial Law helps you understand Strategic Management, and vice versa. Do not treat them as separate subjects, because they are not. The sooner you see the connections, the easier it will be to retain the material from both.
Fourth year
The fourth year is the home straight, the time to consolidate all your knowledge and prepare to make the leap into the professional world. If you can already picture yourself applying your skills in a real-world setting and are ready to prove your worth, this year is your springboard to success. This is where your profile as a dual expert really comes into its own, culminating in your work placement and your Final Year Project.
All fourth-year modules summarised in this table:

The core modules
- Financial Management. Here you make the decisions that shape a company’s financial future. You will learn to analyse investment projects, manage the risk-return trade-off and value financial assets. It is one of the most demanding modules on the Business Administration and Management degree programme and also one of the most sought-after in the job market.
- European Union Law. We live in an environment regulated by legislation that extends far beyond Spain’s borders. This module provides you with the keys to understanding how the European legal system works, how its rules are created and how they directly affect businesses, citizens and public authorities. This knowledge is essential for any professional with international ambitions.
- External Academic Placements and Final Year Project. These are not modules in the traditional sense, but they are the most important parts of the course. The placements connect you with the real job market; the Final Year Project demonstrates that you are capable of applying everything you have learnt independently. Both shape your professional profile even before you graduate.
How to approach this course
Choose your final-year project topic at the start of the year, not at the end. This is the most common mistake and the one that causes the most stress. Also, choose your placement company strategically: think about which sector you want to work in and look for an experience that will help build your profile in that direction. This year is not just about passing your exams, but about starting to position yourself professionally.
Fifth year
In your final year, you will become a legal professional with a global outlook and a high level of specialisation, ready to make a difference. If you aspire to lead international operations, resolve complex disputes and master the most demanding areas of law, this is your moment. The fifth year comprises 72 ECTS credits and represents the highest level of specialisation in the entire degree programme. This is when you move beyond simply learning about law and business to start thinking like someone who has mastered both worlds simultaneously.
All fifth-year modules summarised in this table:
| Course | Credits |

| Public International Law | 6 |
| Procedural Law III | 6 |

The role of compliance officer is one of the most in-demand positions in large corporations, and this dual degree provides you with exactly the combination of knowledge required.
- Employment Law and Social Security. The legal framework governing relations between employers and employees is something every manager or adviser needs to understand. This module equips you to understand contracts, dismissals, collective bargaining and how the Social Security system works – knowledge that is applicable from day one in any organisation.
- International Business Law. Trade knows no borders, and neither can the law. You will learn to manage international contracts, commercial arbitration and operations in foreign markets. This module is particularly valuable if your aim is to work for companies with a global presence or in the field of international consultancy.
Elective modules
In your final year, the optional modules (6 credits) allow you to add the finishing touches and a more personal touch to your academic profile. You will be able to delve deeper into very specific areas that are of particular interest to you for your future. It is the ultimate opportunity to build a highly specialised profile that will set you apart in the job market.

If you’re interested in consultancy, focus on international law; if you prefer the corporate sector, compliance and employment law are your best allies. This year shapes your professional identity, so make the most of it.
