This Master’s programme goes beyond traditional programmes focused on legal theory or clinical intervention. It integrates expert assessment, report writing, courtroom advocacy and forensic practice into a single experiential approach, preparing you to practise as a private expert witness with immediate competence.
You will learn to assess psychological harm, evaluate the risk of violence and draft expert reports with methodological rigour, applying the guidelines of the COP Madrid and the standards required in court. Taking a practical approach, you will immerse yourself in simulated real-life cases, developing the key skills required for professional practice.
The programme combines specialised training, immediate practical application and a strategic overview of the expert witness sector. You will not only learn the theory, but also how to defend your report in court and act as an expert witness in legal contexts. Upon completion, you will be equipped to generate income quickly through expert reports in the private sector, with the option to subsequently sit public sector competitive examinations.
Its 100% online format, with guaranteed in-person work placements, allows you to balance your studies with your professional commitments. The Master’s programme includes 150 hours of work placements in courts, prisons, social reintegration centres and leading private law firms.
The programme equips you with the technical and strategic skills most in demand in the field of forensic psychology. Through an experiential and practical approach, you will be able to translate your knowledge into robust expert reports that can be defended in court. The advanced training you will receive will equip you with a solid foundation for both private practice and public sector competitive examinations.
