The UAX Education Group and Repsol have signed a collaboration agreement that reaffirms the link between the academic and business worlds. This important partnership enables the creation of a shared framework that contributes to talent development, the energy transition and the dissemination of knowledge, from a practical and innovative perspective that has a real impact on society.
The agreement sets out five key areas of focus that reflect both organisations’ commitment to education that is relevant to the challenges of the present and the future. Firstly, Repsol becomes an educational partner of the UAX Group, contributing to the design and development of programmes that promote students’ employability, as well as fostering new skills for Repsol’s professionals.
In addition to work placements at Repsol and inclusive activities, this collaboration involves professionals from the energy company taking part in training initiatives and masterclasses, as well as in the “UAX makers” educational model, through the development of projects with students. Both organisations will also work on developing training programmes for the company’s employees, combining the applied knowledge of Alfonso X el Sabio University (UAX), the digital specialisation of The Valley Business & Tech School and the technical excellence of Xtart FP, which forms part of the educational group’s ecosystem.
“At Grupo UAX, we firmly believe in the transformative role of education, not only as a tool for individual progress, but as a driving force for change within organisations and society. Through initiatives such as this, we reinforce our commitment to training professionals who are prepared to respond to the challenges of the market and society by applying technology with purpose. Because our partnership with Repsol goes beyond conventional training. It is a shared commitment to innovation, the energy transition and social impact, from a humanistic perspective and with a vision for the future,” said Pilar Torres, Director of the Business & Tech and Enterprise Division at the UAX Education Group.
Repsol’s Managing Director of People and Organisation, Carmen Muñoz, emphasised that “for Repsol, it is essential to establish solid agreements on training, research and the reduction of CO₂ emissions with educational groups such as UAX. These partnerships not only foster the development of young people, but also drive joint solutions to current challenges and the transfer of knowledge to move towards a more competitive and sustainable society.”
In the energy sector, the agreement reinforces the UAX Group’s roadmap towards NetZero through the integration of various solutions, such as renewable energy generation, the roll-out of low-carbon mobility solutions and the implementation of efficiency services, all aimed at reducing the Group’s carbon footprint. Furthermore, it includes a range of bespoke solutions for the entire educational community, thereby facilitating an inclusive energy transition.
The UAX Education Group’s collaboration also extends to a commitment to promoting various initiatives that can contribute to enhancing research activity, through the implementation of R&D projects and the support and transfer of knowledge between universities and industry.
Another key area focuses on social action and the dissemination of knowledge. Through projects promoted by the Repsol Foundation, such as its corporate volunteering programmes or the Open Room and Zinkers initiatives, and collaboration with the UAX Foundation’s Volunteering Office, both organisations will work to bring the major challenges of the energy transition closer to the public, from an educational, accessible and socially conscious perspective.
This agreement consolidates a partnership that reinforces the distinctive educational model of the UAX Educational Group — centred on employability, links with industry and a commitment to the local community—whilst simultaneously enhancing Repsol’s role as a key player in the energy transition, working to contribute to societal progress through collaboration with the academic world.
