In his double facet of conducting and performing, he collaborates with the main Spanish orchestras and with others such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berliner Konzerthausorchester, the Wiener Kammerorchester or the Orchestre de Paris, among others.

Iagoba Fanlo

Cello

Iagoba Fanlo, cellist and professor at the Conservatorio Superior de Aragón, has recorded for Sony Classical and is renowned for his work in the recovery of Spanish music. He has been a soloist with prestigious international orchestras and has collaborated with great conductors. Doctor of Arts, he gives master classes and edits unpublished scores.

Leo de Maria

Piano

A unique blend of technical skill, great sensitivity and deep passion in his playing has established Leo de María as one of the best performers of his generation. Leo de María holds more than 30 national and international awards.

Ashlan Pillai

Viola

He has won competitions such as the Lionel Tertis, the Rome International Competition, the Royal Overseas League or the Park Lane Grup Competition in London, as well as the Artists International in New York, among others. He has an extensive viola discography such as the 11 sonatas for the Royal Palace of Madrid (1770-1819) for Boileau Publications.

Antonio Felipe

Saxophone

Honorary Prize at the end of his studies at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. He was selected for his virtuosity by Selmer Paris for the "1er Tremplin Jeunes 2002-2003", an exclusive scholarship for which only four saxophonists in Europe were chosen.

Alberto Urroz

Piano

One of the most outstanding, singular and multifaceted Spanish musicians of his generation; acclaimed pianist with an international career as soloist, active performer of chamber music, pianist accompanying great singers in recital and dance companies and dancers in important festivals.

Harold Hernandez

Tuba

Doctor "cum laude". Artist/Ambassador of Wessex Tubas and Mercer&Barker mouthpieces.Superior Teacher of Tuba and Lyric Singing, Master in Heritage Management and Educational Direction. He has developed his career in Europe and Latin America and is a tuba player with the OCC of Cordoba. Director of the Master's Degree in Instrumental Pedagogy at the UAX. Doctorate tutor in Mexico and Cuba. Author of the book Tubas y yo vengo and the blog "inBBflat". He participates in international congresses and collaborates in specialised media.

José Antonio García Sevilla

Trumpet

Graduate in trumpet, Master's Degree in Music Performance and Research from the International University of Valencia and Doctorate in Arts and Humanities from the UPV. from the Universidad Internacional Valenciana and Doctor in Arts and Humanities from the UPV. He currently teaches at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid and the Alfonso X el Sabio University.

Marian Moraru

Violin

Marian Moraru, a violinist born in Moldova in 1977, trained at the Stefan Neaga College and the National University of Music in Bucharest. He received masterclasses from Petru Munteanu, Sherban Lupu and Eugen Sarbu. He was a member of Jeunesses Musicales and the Sergiu Celibidache Orchestra. He has been a soloist with the Philharmonic Orchestra Constanta and a member of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra. In Spain, he was Assistant Concertmaster in the Orquesta de Extremadura and is currently Assistant Soloist in the Orquesta de RTVE. He plays an Emanuel Adam Homolka from 1838.

Juan Luis Puelles

Clarinet

Juanlu Puelles, clarinettist and researcher, has played in orchestras such as the London Symphony and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He was a member of the Macao Orchestra and collaborated with the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Professor at ESMAR and MUSIKEX, he directs CLARINETASIA. Specialist in musician's health, he studied at MUSIKENE and Germany with international referents.

Robert Silla

Oboe

Robert Silla (Valencia, 1982) is oboe soloist with the Orquesta Nacional de España, teacher at Musical Arts Madrid and music researcher. He has collaborated with prestigious orchestras and conducted the Maniatico Ensemble. A specialist in 18th century Spanish music, he has recorded unpublished sextets by Brunetti to great international acclaim.

Pilar Rius

Guitarist and cultural manager specialising in contemporary music.

As Director of the Ex Corde International Festival, she has enjoyed a distinguished international career as a performer and has premiered more than 50 works. She is currently Head of Studies at the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts at UAX and a board member of MUSICÓN.

Lara Vizuete

Coordinator of the Bachelor's Degree in Modern Music Performance

Singer and composer trained at the New York Jazz Master of Music. She has shared the stage with artists such as Chico Pinheiro, Pablo Martín and Guillermo McGill. In 2018 she won the Concurso Alternativas de La Noche en Vivo.

Naima Acuña

Jazz Drums, Sight-reading and Combo

Naíma Acuña, a versatile percussionist with a distinctive style, has collaborated with Greg Osby, Mark Turner and Jorge Pardo. Trained at the Guildhall School and the Conservatory of A Coruña, she has performed at international festivals and is recognised by Jazzwise and Downbeat. She is sponsored by Vic Firth, DW Drums and Istanbul Agop.

Carlos Gutierrez

Carlos Gutierrez Electric guitar

Carlos Gutiérrez, jazz guitarist, studied with Joaquín Chacón at the Escuela Creativa and completed his training at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in The Hague. He has played with leading musicians in Holland and performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival. He lives in Madrid, working as a session musician and sideman.

Ander García

Teacher of Electric Bass, Double Bass, Advanced Combo Ensemble.

He was a member of the CiTric group, which led him to play at jazz festivals (Ibiza, Getxo and Madrid). He was musical director of Sheilah Cuffy Project. He has 3 albums, two of which have been selected by DistritoJazz as some of the best jazz albums in the country.

Pepe Rivero

Piano

Musical director of the Latin Jazz Festival in Spain. Winner in 2001 and 2002 of the 3rd SGAE prize for Latin Jazz composition. Guest pianist and composer on Paquito D'Rivera's 2015 Latin Grammy winning album.

Juan Robles de la Puente

Piano Teacher, Harmony I, Advanced Listening Training, TFG

Classically and modern trained. And experience as a performer. More than 10 years as a teacher. Doctor in Psychology, specialist in the effects of music on personality, intelligence and emotions.

XII EPTA Madrid Piano Competition

International piano competition organised by EPTA Madrid and held in the Yehudi Menuhin Auditorium, which reaches its second year of organisation under our team.

UAX Combos Festival

Festival held in the Sala Villanos with performances by combos made up of students from the faculty, as part of a programme of exams and auditions that takes place regularly in some of the most emblematic venues in Madrid.

Museum Night · Cerralbo Museum

Participation by music performance students in this high-profile cultural event in Madrid, as part of the partnership agreement with the Cerralbo Museum, which enables regular performances to take place at this venue.

Masterclass with renowned musicians

You will attend exclusive sessions with internationally renowned performers and teachers. In one of them, jazz pianist Monika Herzig shared techniques, interpretative keys and her professional vision with our students.

Competitions and festivals

You will have the opportunity to perform in competitions and festivals where you will test your skills. An ensemble from the Degree in Modern Music won the Malvasía Medinaceli Jazz Competition and performed at the VI MALVASÍA Festival.

Meetings and Round Tables

You will participate in meetings with artists, educators and organisations such as the Botín Foundation and Orquestra Geração to explore the impact of music on education, inclusion and social leadership.

Music Summer Camp

You can join the UAX Summer Music Course, an intensive experience with workshops, rehearsals and masterclasses in modern and classical music. A way to grow as a performer and experience the musical atmosphere of the campus in summer.

UAX Music Club
