Higher Technician in Physical Conditioning

Dual training in on-site mode:

Based on the Organic Law 3/2022 from the academic year 24-25 different significant novelties are introduced in the Vocational Education and Training system in Spain

• All Vocational Training will adopt a dual approach, which means that students will combine their learning between educational centres and companies.
• The Workplace Training (FCT) module will no longer exist as a separate component. Instead, work placements will be integrated directly within the modules of each training programme.
• This means that internships will not take place exclusively at the end of the course, but will be distributed throughout the educational programme and will be oriented towards the achievement of specific learning outcomes.

The new VET Law establishes two models of dual VET: the general model and the intensive model. The general model replaces the previous "classroom mode" and work placements in companies will represent between 20-35% of training hours, depending on the type of VET. In the intensive model, companies will assume 35-50 % of the training time. All higher vocational training cycles of UAX FP belong to the general model.

Tools:

• INBODY scales, the best on the market for this purpose to carry out body study tests, i.e. it measures total fat percentage and by body segments, muscle mass percentage, body water...
• Use of ENCODER: Device to assess and measure the speed of execution of a vertical jump, squat, bench press..., allowing both the athlete and the coach to obtain accurate feedback on the athlete's sporting performance and health.

• Javier Sesma Piñeiro: Graduate in CCAFyD and Master in high performance sports and health. Product Manager at Go Fit. Presenter and international trainer in Indoor Cycling with more than 15 years of experience in the fitness and personal training sector.
• Gemma Soto Jiménez: Teacher of Training and Work and Company Orientation. Lawyer specialising in business law, family law, mediation and arbitration. She has worked as a corporate lawyer for Mapfre, Zurko Research, Proteos Biotech and Bankia, among others. She is currently a partner of GCS Abogados and Asistalia Abogados.

Our staff is made up of certified experts in physical preparation and leading figures in the sports sector.

During the internship period you will develop professional skills and learn first-hand about the processes that govern the working environment of the sector. Our students will have the opportunity to do internships in companies, gyms and top-level organisations such as the Rafa Nadal Academy to gain professional experience and applied knowledge of what they have learnt during their training.

You can access this Higher Level Training Cycle if:

• You are 18 years old or you turn 18 in the year in which the training course begins.
• You are over 16 years old and you are registered as a worker, you are a high-level sportsperson or you have an illness, physical difficulty or dependence that prevents you from attending the training cycle in person.

In addition, you must have at least one of the following academic qualifications:

• Baccalaureate (LOE or LOGSE).
• Specialist Technician or Higher Vocational Training Technician Degree.
• Intermediate Vocational Training Technician's Degree
• Training Cycle or Intermediate Degree
• University Degree
• COU or Pre-university Certificate
• Document that proves that you have passed the 2nd year of any modality of the experimental Baccalaureate.
• Certificate of successful completion of the entrance exams to higher level training cycles.

The former TAFAD degree, which was taught until 2019, was officially called Técnico Superior en Animación de Actividades Físicas y Deportivas (TSAAFD).

In 2019, this qualification was reformed and divided into two new Higher Degree qualifications:

• Higher Technician in Teaching and Socio-Sports Animation (TSEAS): This qualification focuses on teaching and animation of physical and sports activities in the educational, social and health fields.
• Higher Technician in Physical Conditioning (TSAF): This qualification focuses on personal training and physical preparation for sport and health.
