The pharmacy curriculum in Malaga is designed to boost your career in pharmacy and your chosen field. Through an innovative academic programme, designed to offer a practical approach both in the pharmaceutical industry and in the pharmacy office.
Facilities
An anatomy room with anatomical models of all the organs and systems of the human body, electrocardiograph, spirometer, audiometer, podoscope, negatoscope, weighing and measuring scales, optotypes and biofeed-back system.
It is also equipped with all the audiovisual teaching assistance systems, with abundant graphic material related to the morphology, structure and function of the human body and the stomatognathic apparatus.
The University has Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biological Analysis, Pharmacology and Microbiology Laboratories.
These laboratories are equipped with the usual equipment for this type of facility: balances, thermostats, stirrers, refrigerators, freezers, centrifuges, baths, autoclaves, centrifuges, microscopes, ovens, laminar flow hoods, DNA and protein electrophoresis, PCR, cell culture ovens, cold chamber, electrophoresis equipment, fibre determination, digesters, optical and fluorescence microscopes.
This laboratory has the usual basic equipment for physics practicals, the main equipment being the following: wire bridges, oscilloscopes, sonometers, teslometers, teslometers, boards and beams, He-Ne lasers, microwaves, electromagnets, Coulomb balance, viscometers, spring pendulums, optical benches, spherometers, torsion pendulums, calorimeters, dilatation equipment, and all the accessories necessary for carrying out laboratory practicals.
Separate areas have been designed, one for general chemistry, organic and inorganic synthesis, with a room for instrumental analysis, and another focused on learning industrial processes and chemical technology. They are equipped with warehouses, loading docks and central gas station, the usual fungible material, UV spectrophotometers, diode array, gas chromatographs, liquid chromatographs, rotary evaporators, vacuum pumps, ovens, muffles, pH meters, conductivity meters, meters with specific redox electrodes, fume hoods with two extraction stations each, infrared spectroscopy systems, grenators, centrifugal evaporators, calorimeters, magneto-stirrers, melting point meters, Mettler balances, Parr pumps, dosing pumps, etc.
When you study pharmacy in Malaga you will have the opportunity to carry out a 6-month (660 hours) supervised academic internship in your final year, choosing the pharmacy of your choice anywhere in Spain. We have agreements with more than 300 pharmacies for you to develop your curricular internships.

All those interested in studying for a degree in Malaga must take an entrance exam.
The tests last approximately one and a half hours and consist of the following:
Competence test: TCAP©- Test of Academic and Personal Competences. The competences of the candidate are evaluated through standardised and scientifically endorsed psycho-technical and personality tests with an estimated duration of 60 minutes.
Language test: English test for candidates with Spanish mother tongue and Spanish test for candidates with non-Spanish mother tongue. The estimated duration of the online test is 30 minutes.
Candidates with a non-Spanish mother tongue will be required to have a minimum level B1 of Spanish, regardless of the language certificates they present.

PhD in Microbiology and Graduate in Pharmacy from the University of Seville, with teaching and research experience in Spanish and international universities. Her work focuses on taxonomy and genomics of halophilic microorganisms, human microbiome and antimicrobial resistance through metagenomics. Author of 13 scientific articles and 5 book chapters, she participates in international research and teaching innovation projects and collaborates in scientific dissemination.
D. candidate at UCM, with international research experience at Harvard Medical School. Specialised in nutrition, neuroscience and metabolic health, with publications in indexed scientific journals. Researcher in the UCM-VALORNUT group and scientific disseminator. Coordinator of the Degree in Pharmacy at UAX Mare Nostrum.
Law graduate from the UNED and specialist in Extended Reality and Entrepreneurship from the Incyde Foundation, with more than 25 years of experience in cultural, educational and technological projects. Teacher, filmmaker and entrepreneur, he combines audiovisual innovation with the application of XR/AR in education, dissemination and marketing. Co-founder of the startup More than verso SL, selected in reference accelerators such as La Brújula XR and Fundación Unicaja-Málaga TechPark. Co-author of scientific articles on virtual reality and consumer behaviour, and speaker at conferences on emerging technologies and educational innovation.
PhD in Chemistry from the University of Granada, with more than 15 years of international experience in the United States as a professor and researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where she headed the Protein Engineering and Biophysics section. Her research focuses on the structural and functional study of proteins involved in cancer, infectious diseases and congenital skin pathologies. Author of more than 40 international scientific publications, a patent and numerous presentations at conferences, she currently collaborates with the Hospital Universitario Costa del Sol and teaches on the UAX Mare Nostrum Degree in Pharmacy.
PhD in Mathematics from the University of Malaga, where she also graduated, and later completed a Master's degree in Mathematical Engineering at the University Carlos III of Madrid and a Master's degree in Teacher Training at the UNED. She has taught in different undergraduate degrees at the University of Malaga and Carlos III University, and is the author of several teaching books and research papers on mathematics teaching. Her line of research focuses on the design and implementation of numerical methods for hyperbolic partial differential equations applied to geophysical fluids. She is currently coordinator of the Degrees in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and in Design and Development of Videogames at UAX Mare Nostrum.
International PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Malaga, specialising in bioinformatics, systems biology and precision medicine for genetic and rare diseases. Researcher in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, member of CIBERER and IBIMA-RARE, with stays at University College London, University of Westminster and University of Barcelona. Author of 17 publications and recipient of IBIMA-RARE and IBIMA-BIONAND awards, she combines research, teaching and dissemination in bioinformatics and biomedicine.
Graduate in Philosophy and Arts (specialising in English) from the University of Malaga and PGCE from The University of Sheffield (UK). She has an extensive international teaching career, having been Head of the Department of Modern Languages at various centres in the UK and lecturer at the University of Sheffield. Author and co-author of teaching and assessment materials for publishers such as Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press and Hodder Education, specialising in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language.
International PhD Cum Laude from the University of Malaga and Degree in Physics from the University of Granada, specialising in Artificial Intelligence. She has carried out research at UMALASERLAB and CSIC on space debris, gamma rays and gravitational waves projects, with publications in Nature and the UMA Award for Research Excellence. He combines university teaching in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Engineering with experience in R&D, consultancy in AI and Big Data, and collaboration in the BOOTES Robotic Telescopes network.
