Alfonso X el Sabio University and COFARES(the first pharmaceutical distributor to receive the Top Employers Spain 2021 certification), have joined forces to offer pharmacists, through this specialist course, the opportunity to develop their skills and expertise in orthopaedic techniques, which are essential when designing, manufacturing, fitting and dispensing orthopaedic medical devices.

This training meets one of the necessary criteria set out in Royal Decree 437/2002: a minimum of over 200 hours of specialised training (20 ECTS credits), which enables pharmacists to sell bespoke orthopaedic products.

At the same time, each Autonomous Community has its own criteria for the final approval of opening an orthopaedic section within a pharmacy.

What skills will you acquire?

You will acquire the anatomical, physiological, biomechanical and pathological knowledge required to work in the field of orthopaedics.
You will learn the methodology used in orthopaedics when designing, manufacturing and fitting orthopaedic products
You will become familiar with the most in-demand assistive products in pharmacy orthopaedic departments, as well as how to fit them.
You will learn everything you need to organise, manage and promote a pharmacy’s orthopaedic department.
You will gain practical experience in handling and fitting the most commonly requested orthoses and assistive devices in a pharmacy’s orthopaedic department.
