What will you learn?

Neurotechnology, or NeuroTech, is establishing itself as one of the fields with the greatest potential for transformation in sectors such as healthcare, education and smart systems. The development of devices capable of recording, analysing and interpreting neural signals presents new opportunities, but also significant ethical, regulatory and social challenges.

The NeuroTech & Neural Ethics micro-credential offers a structured introduction to this emerging field, providing the knowledge needed to understand the fundamentals of neurotechnologies, their main applications and the challenges associated with their responsible use.

Throughout the course, students will gain a comprehensive overview of neurophysiological devices and data, learn to interpret their basic significance, and develop criteria for critically analysing the implications of these technologies in different contexts.

Upon completion of the micro-credential, you will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamentals and key concepts of the NeuroTech ecosystem.
  • Identify the main technologies and devices used to record brain activity.
  • Interpret neurophysiological data at a basic level and understand its potential and limitations.
  • Analyse applications of NeuroTech in fields such as healthcare, education and smart systems.
  • Identify risks associated with the use and processing of neural data.
  • Understand the principles of neuroethics and the main applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Assess real-world use cases from an ethical, social and technological responsibility perspective.

A course designed to help participants understand the impact of neurotechnologies and to promote the critical, safe and responsible use of these innovations.
