Train at the highest level in the field of clinical nutrition, through an innovative methodology compatible with your professional activity.

This degree aims to provide specialised training for health professionals in the field of Clinical Renal Nutrition. Specifically, it will deal with the concept of malnutrition and malnutrition related to the disease in different clinical contexts. During the course, professionals will be able to update and deepen their knowledge in the early detection of malnutrition related to the disease, as well as in the establishment of nutritional treatments adapted to the needs of each patient.

The Specialist Degree in Addressing Malnutrition Related to Kidney Disease is a qualification designed in collaboration with Abbott Laboratories and health professionals from the best health centres.

The teaching programme is structured in 7 modules, obtaining the Expert qualification by passing 3 modules, 15 ECTS, being compulsory to pass the modules Clinical nutrition in renal disease and Advanced clinical nutrition in renal disease.

You have the possibility of taking individual modules and receiving a certificate accrediting that you have passed them.

Access and Admission

Legal requirements for access

The studies of the Specialist Degree in Addressing Disease-Related Malnutrition can be accessed by fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Hold a degree (Graduate or Bachelor's Degree) in the area of Health and be an active health professional (*).

(*) in the Spanish Social Security health system or in Spanish Health Centres, Hospitals or Institutions.

Students must provide, at the time of formalising the process or when required by the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, the documentation requested and required in any of the procedures and within the deadlines indicated. If this documentation is not submitted, or if it is not authentic or sufficient, the enrolment will not be formalised.

The deadlines for enrolment in any of the Modules are:

  • October 2025 to March 2026.

Enrolment after the indicated months is not allowed, taking into account the estimated time needed to take the programmes.

How long do I have to take each programme?

Once you have registered and enrolled, you will receive an e-mail with the passwords to access the platform. From that moment on, you will have until June 2026 to finish this training.

If the student does not finish the module in the allotted time, he/she will have to re-enrol for the same, upon request to UAX&Abbott. This possibility of re-enrolment cannot be guaranteed due to the limited number of places available.
