Spanish degree or homologated degree in Medicine. In addition, foreign qualifications in Medicine that are duly legalised by means of the Apostille of The Hague will be admitted.

General objective
The main objective of the Master's Degree in Aesthetic Medicine of the UAX is to provide graduates in Medicine with a comprehensive, theoretical-practical and up-to-date training that allows them to enter the field of aesthetic medicine with confidence, competence and rigour.

At the end of the programme, the student will be able to:
Understand the facial and body anatomical bases relevant to aesthetic medicine, as well as the physiological processes of ageing.
Know the properties, indications and mechanisms of action of the main medical-aesthetic treatments, including botulinum toxin, dermal fillers, mesotherapy, peelings and energy-based technologies.
Identify current trends in the sector and professional opportunities in aesthetic medicine.
Correctly apply injection techniques and other aesthetic procedures safely.
Select the most appropriate treatment according to the patient's characteristics and aesthetic needs.
Design personalised treatment plans, including combined approaches (Full Face).
Handle equipment and technologies such as laser, pulsed light and radiofrequency.
Use clinical support tools such as medical photography for diagnosis, follow-up and patient communication.
Recognise and prevent risks associated with aesthetic medicine treatments.
Identify and appropriately manage adverse reactions and complications derived from procedures.
Apply action protocols based on patient safety and good clinical practice.
Understand the legal and regulatory framework applicable to aesthetic medicine.
Act in accordance with the ethical and deontological principles of the medical profession.
Manage and direct aesthetic medicine health centres, including organisational, financial and regulatory aspects.
Develop marketing and communication strategies, especially in digital environments and social networks.

| Description of internships | For this master's degree, different types of internships have been defined: Practical exercises carried out by the student (70 hours) in remote format. Work on a digital simulator (20 hours) in remote/online format with a simulation programme that the UAX will make available to the student. Work on a real simulator (24 hours) to be carried out in the UAX Dental Clinics. Practical work with patients (116h) to be carried out at the UAX Dental Clinics. Clinical Rotation (20h) to be carried out in Clinics specialised in Aesthetic Medicine. |
TEACHING STAFF
Address
Dr. Ruiz has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Oviedo. Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery with a Master's degree in Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Management and Direction of Health Centres from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is in charge of the Reconstructive Surgery team at the University Hospital of Cabueñes and a specialist in facial and body Aesthetic Medicine in different clinics with extensive experience in facial and body hyaluronic acid fillers, toxins and tensor threads, among others. She collaborates with different industry laboratories as an international trainer and opinion leader and is a member of several scientific societies SECPRE, AECEP & SOCIPER.
Coordination
Teresa Galera holds a degree in Biology from the University of Granada and a PhD in Biomedicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the development of induced pluripotent stem cells for disease modelling. Author of more than 10 research articles in prestigious international journals. She holds an executive MBA from the prestigious IE Business School. Since 2021 she has been a mentor at ESAME in the Advanced Therapies MBA. Throughout her professional career she has held various positions in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, both in the medical department and in clinical operations, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic projects.
